Katabatic Gear was born from a passion for the backcountry and a desire to combine ultralight performance with true comfort. Its founder spent years in traditional, heavier backpacking before realizing that lighter gear could bring more freedom to move through the wild. The first quilt was created out of necessity—to design something that truly keeps warmth in and drafts out, even for active sleepers.
