These magnificent fells rise from the rugged wilderness of Käsivarsi, one of Finland’s most breathtaking regions. The popular Nordkalott Trail leads west from Kilpisjärvi to Sweden’s Pältsa and Norway’s Paras, and northeast to Halti, Finland’s highest peak. Halti can also be reached via a shorter route from the Norwegian side. The Malla Nature Reserve is easily accessible on foot along a scenic trail north of Kilpisjärvi, and the return journey can even be made by water bus.
