Calazo’s Pältsa Treriksröset Kilpisjärvi map covers the border region of Sweden, Finland and Norway at two scales. One side is a 1:50,000 mountain map with marked hiking trails and overnight huts in Sweden and Norway, including the Nordkalottleden from Kilpisjärvi to Dærtahytta. The other side is a 1:25,000 map of the Kilpisjärvi and Three-Country Cairn day-trip area, home to Saana and Pikku-Malla.
The map belongs to Calazo’s new generation of mountain maps. Terrain data comes from airborne laser scanning, and completely new 5 and 10 meter contour lines, sharper watercourses and steep slopes, and clearer wetlands, buildings, rocky ground and difficult vegetation make it a reliable tool for demanding navigation.
It is printed on Tyvek, which is completely waterproof and highly tear-resistant. A Tyvek map does not wear out along the folds or lose its color in use.
Calazo Pältsa Treriksröset Kilpisjärvi 1:50 000/1:25 000
This Calazo map covers the border region of Sweden, Finland and Norway around Treriksröset, the Three-Country Cairn, which marks Sweden’s northernmost point.
One side is a mountain map at a scale of 1:50,000, with numerous marked hiking trails and overnight huts in both Sweden and Norway, including the Nordkalottleden (Arctic Trail) between Kilpisjärvi and Dærtahytta. The other side is at a scale of 1:25,000 and covers the popular day-trip area around Kilpisjärvi and Treriksröset, with classic summits such as Saana and Pikku-Malla.
The map is part of the new generation of mountain maps, with terrain data based on airborne laser scanning. Alongside completely new contour lines at 5 and 10 meter intervals, watercourses and steep slopes stand out far more clearly than before. Trails are shown with greater accuracy, as are wetlands, buildings, rocky ground and dense vegetation that is hard to cross.
Calazo maps are printed on Tyvek, a synthetic fiber that makes the map completely waterproof and highly tear-resistant. A Tyvek map does not wear out along the folds or lose its color in use.
