Cumulus has refined its popular quilts, and the latest generation brings meaningful upgrades across the board. In the new The Quilt, the down quality has been increased to premium 900 fill power, while the shell fabrics are now made from ultralight 7D Toray Airtastic ripstop. The result is an exceptionally light and versatile quilt that delivers remarkable warmth for its weight.

The Quilt 450 is a warm and adaptable option for three-season backpacking. Its zippered footbox can be opened fully when temperatures rise, whether during a hot summer night or in a warm mountain hut. When unzipped, the quilt can also be worn around the shoulders, providing welcome extra warmth during cool autumn evenings at camp.

As a long-standing specialist in down insulation, Cumulus applies decades of field experience to every detail. H-shaped baffles help eliminate cold spots, while the draft collar and well-designed sleeping pad attachment system work together to keep warmth in and drafts out.

A highly versatile and thoughtfully engineered choice for the three-season hiker who values low weight, comfort, and reliable warmth.

Cumulus The Quilt 450

The Cumulus The Quilt 450 is designed for backpackers who value low weight and freedom, but are not willing to compromise on comfort. As a comfortable alternative to a traditional sleeping bag, it offers a spacious and adaptable sleeping experience whether you rest on your side, on your back, or with your knees drawn up.

By using your sleeping pad as insulation underneath, the quilt allows the down to do its job where it matters most: above and around the sleeper. The Quilt 450 is filled with 450 grams of ethically sourced Polish goose down, rated at an impressive 900 fill power for outstanding insulation and a compact packed size. It provides dependable warmth in conditions where temperatures drop close to −5 °C.

Both the shell and lining are made from exceptionally light and breathable 7D Toray Airtastic fabric, which feels soft against the skin and performs well in damp conditions. A short YKK zipper and drawcord at the foot end allow the footbox to be closed on cold nights, while warmer conditions call for fully opening the quilt. The adjustable neck closure is controlled with a separate drawcord, and both the zipper and neck area are protected by down-filled draft tubes to minimize heat loss.

The included attachment system makes it quick and easy to secure the quilt to your sleeping pad. Adjustable straps keep everything in place throughout the night and prevent cold air from entering, even if you tend to change positions often. The system is compatible with sleeping pads 50 to 60 cm wide.

The Quilt 450 is the result of years of development and real-world testing. It excels on spring and autumn hikes, bikepacking trips, and hammock camping, where low weight, small packed size, and reliable warmth in cool conditions are essential.
