The Crest Windshell from Katabatic Gear represents the elite of ultralight, breathable outer layers. It’s made from high-quality 7-denier Pertex Quantum Air, a fabric that blocks wind while remaining breathable enough to prevent moisture buildup inside. The material feels soft to the touch and is treated with a DWR finish for added weather resistance.

The Crest is designed with a minimalist approach, stripping away anything unnecessary to keep the weight as low as possible. There are no extra pockets that would sit awkwardly under a backpack’s hip belt or sternum strap. Instead, the jacket features elastic cuffs and hood, an adjustable hem drawcord, and an ultralight YKK zipper with a chin guard to prevent irritation.
