Fizan Compact 4

Compact 4 are four section trekking poles by the Italian manufacturer Fizan. They come with the same features as Compact 3 and 1947 poles but have four sections instead of three. This makes the Compact 4 poles very handy during transportation. The packing length is only 51 cm resulting in a small weight penalty but sometimes one needs to make hard choices in life. For someone who likes to travel far to their hiking destinations or people who combine cycling with hiking these are an excellent choice.

Fizan Flexy adjustment system holds really well. It is constructed of an aluminium plug and Delrin (DuPont material) expander. This ensures safe and trustworthy locking mechanism, that is comparable even to a leverlock system, but lighter. These poles have been used for example on Mount Everest and K2. The expander has a small “claw” that prevents a situation where the locking mechanism can’t be tightened if it has been loosened too much.

Fizan is an Italian company that has been manufacturing trekking poles since 1947. The poles are made in Italy, not China.
